Education

  • Graduate on Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a relevant discipline.
  • Master’s degree/MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Candidates with experience in power plant, IPP, EPC or energy-sector procurement and permitting will be given preference.

Experience

  • 10 to 12 years

Additional Requirements

Experience:

  • Total 10–12 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the power generation, energy, EPC, heavy engineering or industrial sector.

Major Challenges

  • Ensuring timely procurement of critical equipment, spare parts and services.
  • Managing vendor performance, cost and delivery within budget and timeline.
  • Ensuring timely renewal and compliance of all statutory permits and licenses.
  • Coordinating effectively with government authorities and multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Managing procurement and regulatory risks to ensure uninterrupted power plant operations.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Good understanding of power plant equipment, MRO items, electrical/mechanical components and technical procurement.
  • Strong vendor sourcing, evaluation, negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Knowledge of import/local procurement procedures, LC, shipping/logistics and customs processes will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of permits, licenses, NOCs, regulatory approvals and renewal processes related to power plant operations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and government liaison skills.


Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for power plant operations, maintenance, projects and related services
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process including sourcing, RFQ/RFP, vendor evaluation, negotiation, purchase orders and contract management.
  • Identify, evaluate and develop reliable local and international suppliers/vendors.
  • Ensure timely procurement of critical equipment, spare parts, consumables, services and project materials.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and contractors to achieve competitive pricing, quality and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approved budgets, applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate all required permits, licenses, approvals and renewals related to power plant operations.
  • Liaise with relevant government authorities, regulatory bodies, local administration and other stakeholders for obtaining and maintaining permits and approvals.
  • Maintain a proper tracker and documentation system for all permits, licenses, renewals, NOCs and regulatory submissions.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, HSE and other departments regarding procurement and permitting requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance, contract compliance, delivery schedules and resolution of commercial issues.
  • Develop and maintain a qualified vendor database and conduct periodic vendor performance evaluations.
